Administrative history

D D Morrison & Co was an electrical retailer in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis owned by Donald D Morrison. The business was established in c1920 by George Morrison, trading as George Morrison and later George Morrison & Sons as a general merchants and draper. The shop began selling radios and by 1935 had become D D Morrison & Co when it developed into retailing branded electrical goods and later becoming agents for Philips Cycles. The company passed to Donald’s widow, Etta Morrison, in 1956 and then later to her son, James Morrison, the step son of Donald D Morrison.
The business was situated at 59 Cromwell Street and it expanded to 61 Cromwell Street. The business closed in February 2007.
