Co-Chomunn Nis was established in the Ness areas of the Isle of Lewis in the 1970s as a community co-operative. As well as running a shop, and for a time a mobile van shop, it also operated a series of poly tunnels.
As the Co-Chomunn was a community co-operative its membership was drawn from the community who all held shares in the company.
The company was wound up in the 1980s.
