Co-Chomunn na Pairc was formed in the 1970s through the program run by the Highlands and Islands Development Board for community co-operatives.
In 2001, it became a company limited by guarantee and then in 2007, it was registered as a charity. During this time, the Co-Chomunn made and sold knitwear and also ran a salmon hatchery. The Co-Chomunn is managed by a committee of management.elected by the co-operatives membership.
In January 2010, a wholly owned subsidiary company was established called Ravenspoint Trading Ltd to run the café and shop which is located within the Ravenspoint Centre, Kershader.
The Co-Chomunn also run a 14 bed hostel, and rent space to Comann Eachdraidh na Pairs, the Islands Book Trust and the Angus “Ease” Macleod Archive.
In 2011, the Co-Chomunn commenced building work to extend one wing of the Ravenspoint Centre into a space which will accommodate a new tea room, new kitchen, more exhibition space and toilets.
