Biographical history

Alan Lawson (1910–7.8.1992) graduated from Glasgow University with an M.A.; his career was in education and he eventually retired as Depute Director of Education in Inverness County Council in 1975. For several years thereafter he served as part-time Archivist for Highland Regional Council. He was an enthusiastic and very knowledgeable historian and the author of many articles on historical topics and of short stories, and served as President of Inverness Field Club.
