History
Donald R Morrison, from the Isle of Scalpay, Outer Hebrides, Scotland deposited records of his work as a journalist, writer and poet with the Stornoway Gazette and The Oban Times newspapers. He deposited the collection with Stornoway Library over a period of a number of years.
Amongst his work, he wrote a weekly article on Scalpay, the area where he has lived all his life for the “Oban Times” newspaper and also was crowned bard at the Mod in 1958. He has also contributed to the Stornoway Gazette through sending photographs, poetry and stories which were published in the paper.
