History
H H Mackenzie (fl 1880-1934) was factor for the North Uist Estate. As factor he had responsibility for collecting rentals, dealing with tenants, and general estate administration. He had a house at Buckstone Terrace Edinburgh and would split his time between there and North Uist. He collected antiquities found across the estate which were subsequently deposited in the National Museums of Scotland by his children.
