As admission registers have not survived but daily attendance registers have, then one year’s attendance records have been kept for every 5 year interval for which they survive. Five years means that an individual should appear within an attendance register at least once during their school career, assuming they stayed for the full period. Where registered are in existence for the final year of a school but this falls outwith the 5 yearly sample, the final years admission registers have been retained.
